I have been busy today. After work I went to supper at Sullivan's in Laurel near the race track. Then I went home where I have been working on installing an upgrade to some software. Then I went to one of my websites and worked on its links. Tomorrow I will probably work on more links and add a few. And now I am updating this blog and in a few minutes I will download next weeks Liturgy of the Hours which I will then download to my PDA. Then I will pray compline and head for bed.

On this day in 1969 I was baptized as an adult. I waited from the time I was 13 until I was 22. It felt like a forever wait. But in those days I was not yet of legal age ... It was 21 then. Before I could join the church I also had to be earning my own keep.
In those days January the 13th was always the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. I had recently experienced a potentially lethal situation and went to my "pastor" Father Leo Piguet the Newman Club chaplain at St. Thomas Aquinas Church right on the edge of the Purdue University campus where I was studying. I asked him when I could be baptized. His response was January 13th. At that time I did not realize that it was the Feast. What a wonderful gift he and the Lord conspired to give me. I wish the US had not gone to the Sunday option but kept the date option. Instead now we are liturgically in the middle of the First Week of Ordinary Time.
I haven't written in the blog for a long time. I had forgotten my userid and my password. But Blogger.com is fantastic ... the lost is recovered!
I am taking a class for about a month. I need to do some fixup on my webpages and have decided to use Dreamweaver to do the work. It is not that I do not know how to do HTML but I would prefer to not have to enter all the tags, etc.

It will be a very busy upcoming weekend! Meeting with Sue for Mass at Our Lady of the Fields with breakfast afterwards, a major laundry effort, bagging up stuff in the basement to put out for garbage pickup this coming Tuesday, Mass on Saturday evening "just in case" because on Sunday morning I have to go to work to test the implementation of some major system enhancements, later I am scheduled to sing at a Mass at St. Anselm's Abbey at 4:00 PM (which I sincerely hope that I will be able to attend), followed by a get together of the Schola and the Mass participants in the Abbey social hall for light refreshements. On Monday I hope to do some more homework and gathering of books to donate to the Library.
If you get a chance come to St. Anselm's Abbey for the Mass at 4:00 PM. It should be quite lovely. And pray for me ... my voice is still not entirely recovered from the illness at Christmastime of 2003!
